Iran to unveil doc on martyred divers in Iraq-Iran war

A documentary on Iranian divers tragically killed in Iraq-Iran war is set to be unveiled in a ceremony in West Azarbaijan Province, Iran.

The ceremony on next Monday will also honor survivals of the martyred Iranian divers.

 The doc comprising 22 episodes was made in collaboration with the Governorate General Office in Iran West Azarbaijan Province.

New docs will alos be made featuring martyred divers in other Iranian provinces, media reports said.

In 2015, 175 Iranian divers who were reportedly buried alive with their hands tied during Iraq imposed War on Iran were returned to Iran.

Brigadier General Mohammad Bagherzadeh, the commander of the Missing in Action (MIA) Search Committee of the Iranian Armed Forces, said some of the retrieved bodies bore no scars indicating that the divers might have been buried alive.

Tributes have poured in for the 175 martyred divers which shows how much Iranians care about defending their territorial integrity. The discovery of the 175 divers triggered an unprecedented emotional response on Iranian social media as well.
